JavaScript Job: Software Engineer, Frontend (m-f-d)

A leading provider of next-generation AI business solutions in the rapidly growing Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) space, Cortical.io is looking for a Frontend Developer with experience in user interface development. This position is based in Vienna, Austria, however remote work can be discussed.

Cortical.io is at the forefront of applying Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Understanding (NLU) to one of today’s biggest challenges, helping companies intelligently process documents. Our solutions accurately extract, classify, and search unstructured text in the documents and messages that are currently overwhelming enterprises. Leveraging a unique and patented approach to NLU, Cortical.io applications are in production at some of the largest enterprises in the world.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced frontend engineer to join our development team in Vienna and to drive the user interface development of our AI-powered products. You will work alongside our machine learning and backend engineers to develop the frontends of applications that use cutting-edge algorithms to solve real-world problems.

Basic requirements

• Good working proficiency in written and spoken English
• Authorization to work in Austria

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Required

• At least 3 years of professional experience working with a reactive JavaScript framework
• Practical experience with most of the following:

- Clean code practices, software testing and code reviews
- JavaScript(ES6), HTML5, CSS3, and the ecosystem around it
- Modern CSS preprocessors
- JS stack: Node.js, Vue, Angular
- Reactive data store such as Vuex or Redux
- Git & NPM
- UI/UX principles and patterns

• Strong sense for teamwork and knowledge sharing
• Willingness to investigate and learn new technologies
• Basic understanding of:

- Software design
- Development practices in an agile software environment (Scrum/Kanban)

Not required, but would be nice if you have:

• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with cloud-based environments like AWS or Azure
• Experience with development of stateless web apps
• Experience creating wireframes and mock-ups

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

SALARY

For this position the minimum annual salary is € 53.200,- (in accordance with the collective agreement) but we provide a market-compliant higher salary depending on qualifications and experience.
